BREAKING: Steve Toth Accused of Omitting Hundreds of Thousands in Assets from Required Ethics Disclosures
[TX-2] – A bombshell report published today by The Texas Voice raises serious questions about congressional candidate Steve Toth’s transparency and financial disclosures, after the outlet reported that Toth may have omitted hundreds of thousands of dollars in assets from his legally required filings with the Texas Ethics Commission.
According to The Texas Voice, a review of Toth’s 2024 and 2025 Personal Financial Statements shows that he reported no ownership of real estate, listed only one source of income — his own business, My Pool Xpert — and failed to disclose any rental income or business-related assets and liabilities, despite public records indicating otherwise. The report concludes that neither filing reflects any real estate holdings in Toth’s name and that required sections related to assets, liabilities, and income sources were either left blank or marked “not applicable.”
These omissions, if accurate, would represent a significant departure from the transparency standards required of candidates seeking federal office and could constitute violations of state disclosure law. Texas voters rely on these disclosures to assess potential conflicts of interest, financial entanglements, and whether candidates are being forthright about their personal and business dealings.
This alleged ethics violation intensifies scrutiny of Toth’s financial disclosures and raises a serious question of fitness for office. CD-2 voters now need to consider that if Steve Toth is unwilling to be transparent about his own financial holdings, can he really be trusted as an elected official?
